Jay Z had signed a $150 million deal with Live Nation which will soon come to an end. As this date nears he has held talks with other leaders in the music industry to see if they’re willing to invest in Roc Nation, his recorded-music industry business. While Live Nation wants to continue investing in Jay Z’s tours they want to exit the recorded-music business. Handling Roc Nation’s negotiations with Live Nation is Desiree Perez, an executive at Roc Nation and a longtime business associate of Jay Z’s. She has been having talks with the CEO and Chairman of Universal Music Group, Sir Lucian Grainge, who is weighing whether he wants to invest in Roc Nation as the other business deal comes to a close. If he does than Jay Z will be able to bring more artists into his other business, Tidal, which is a music streaming app available on Android and Apple smartphones.
