Hip Hop Artists Who Identify With and Support the LGBT Community

 

Many of the popular and famous hip hop and rapper stars are also member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community. Some of them are even gay, bisexual, pansexual or asexual themselves and even some are transgender. Here is a list of gay rap stars, lesbian or another part of the LGBT community:

 

 

  • iLoveMakonnen – He recently announced that he is gay in the beginning of 2017
  • Azealia Banks – She is openly bisexual
  • Melange Lavonne – A gay rapper who has made sure she dedicated her career to helping support LGBT rights
  • Deadlee – He married his partner in 2013 and he commonly raps about sensitive subjects such as homosexuality and race
  • Jonny McGovern – Known as the “gay pimp”, he is not only an openly gay rapper and musician, but a comedian as well

 

  • Solomon – He was one of the very first open gay rappers who was featured on Eminem’s radio show
  • Katastrophe – He is a rap artist in the LGBT community and is also the first hip-hop artist to come out openly as transgender
  • Brooke Candy – She is an openly bisexual artist who has also co-starred in music videos
  • Big Freedia – An openly gay man who is not transgender, just enjoys carrying around his purse
